Another success for Skils in representing České dráhy (Czech Railways) in a dispute with a rolling-stock supplier for a compensation for defective vehicles

České dráhy, legally represented by Skils, has achieved yet another confirmation of the legitimacy of its claims for a discount on defective motor vehicles of the ČD 840 series, previously supplied for operation on the Jizerskohorská železnice (railway network in the Liberec Region) by Stadler Deutschland GmbH. Last year, the appellate court awarded České dráhy the full amount claimed, including accessories and litigation costs, amounting to approximately CZK 130 million. On May 27, 2025, the Supreme Court dismissed Stadler’s appeal against the final judgment as inadmissible.

The entire dispute, lasting almost 10 years, has thus ended in full success for České dráhy before the general courts. The case was notable for its legal and factual complexity, including the necessity of numerous expert testimonies and examinations.
