Skils is a partner of the international conference EU Antitrust: Hot Topics & Next Steps

Skils participated in the international professional conference EU Antitrust: Hot Topics & Next Steps organized by the Faculty of Law of Charles University on January 24 and 25, 2022.

The conference which is focused on competition addressed the current topics such as digitalization, globalization and the pandemic, and their impact on the development of the protection of competition in the European Union. The keynote speaker of the conference was Mrs. Margrethe Vestager, the Executive Vice-President and the Commissioner for Competition of the European Commission. Other speakers at the conference included also Petr Mlsna, the Chairman of the Office for the Protection of Competition, and Jan M. Passer and David Petrlík, Czech judges of the Court of Justice of the EU.

On behalf of Skils, as one of the sponsors of the event, the conference was represented by partner Jiří Kindl, attorney-at-law Jan Kupčík and junior associate Barbara Dufková.

. In his contribution, Jiří focused on the shared economy and its evaluation by competition law, while Jan provided an analysis of a dominant position, and Barbara talked about digital platforms.
