International award for Skils: Deal of the Year 2023 – Acquisition of Sberbank CZ’s loan assets by Česká spořitelna
Skils received the international 2023 Deal of the Year award for its legal services to Česká spořitelna (Erste Group) on its acquisition of Sberbank CZ’s loan assets for CZK 41 billion (approx. EUR 1.6 billion).
The awards recognising legal services on the most significant transactions in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) are announced by CEE Legal Matters, which monitors legal markets in the CEE region.
The acquisition has been accomplished as part of the largest and the most widely followed bankruptcy in the recent history of the Czech Republic. The unique transaction also represents the largest M&A deal in the Czech banking sector since the privatisation of major banks at the turn of the millennium.
