Czech Railways represented by Skils succeeded in a dispute for CZK 7 billion at the Municipal Court in Prague
Skils has successfully represented České dráhy (Czech Railways) in court proceedings in which RegioJet and Student Agency demanded that Czech Railways reimburse to Správa železnic (Railway Management, formerly SŽDC) alleged state aid in excess of CZK 7 billion.
According to the claim, ČD should have received state aid in the amount of approximately CZK 7 billion by selling a part of its business, including land, tracks and other real estate relating to railway network to Správa železnic in 2008. While the previous proceedings mainly dealt with the issue of expiry of limitation periods under the EU law, the Municipal Court in Prague now considered the claim on the merits and fully agreed with the defence of Czech Railways and, accordingly, dismissed the claim in its entirety.
